gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website, a part of the Haryana
Higher Education Department Web Portal, and I hope that it will be a source of
information and inspiration. Today, more than ever before, it has become
essential to keep abreast of all that is happening at home and in the world,
and IT is the only way to optimize our resources and output. Our country has
the largest trained manpower base in the world, and is the world leader in
offering BPO solutions. Under the dynamic and forward looking policies of our
Chief Minister, and the shared vision of our educationists, Haryana is already
one of the leading states in terms of creating, augmenting and strengthening
the state education system. This web portal is our way of reaching out to the
world, and to create such a network that will share and enhance the existing
knowledge base, and will lead to creation of better resources and
understanding. Through this forum, I extend you all the cooperation and
resources I and my institution have, with the assurance that our most important

Brief Introduction
Pt. J.L.N. Govt. College, a post-Graduate Co-education
institution is one of the premier institutions oh Haryana. It has grown in
stature every year since its inception in 1971.Located near the Delhi-Agra
National Highway, 10 kilometer from the Delhi border, the collage is situated
in sec-16A of the Industrial town of Faridabad. Spread over on area of 11.5
acres, the collage building, with its lush green sprawling lawn, provides a
vibrant ambience and all the best possible facilities to our students. The
collage offers educations in Humanities, science and commerce. The faculty
members have distinguished academic achievement to their credit. It has been
declared as the ‘Centre of Excellence’ by the Haryana Govt. Being
with equal affinity. The institute has produced student who or scaling new
frontiers of exchange not only in academics but in sports and various other
co-curricular activities

Perspective
Pt.
Jawahar Lal Nehru Government College, Faridabad is one of the oldest and the
most distinguished college of the region. Established in 1971, the college is
situated in Sector 16 A, in the heart of the city. Spread out in sprawling
campus of 12.5 Acres, the college boasts of a proud history, with national and
international achievements in Sports, Cultural Activities and National Service
Scheme. The college has on its roll of honour many distinguished alumni,
beginning with hon’ble Sh. Krishan Pal Gurjar, the present
Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in Government of India. As
a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, he represents the Faridabad
constituency in the state of Haryana. The college has given cricketers like
Vijay Yadav, Athletes like Ajay Ratra, International Wrestlers like Neha Rathi,
Parkour miracle Ziley Mawai and Popular Bollywood Singers like Himani Kapoor.
Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Director, Sarvodaya Group of Hospitals, too has been a
product of this college, and has brought fame and glory in the domain of health
services in the region.
The college has
been a centre of excellence, and has received extensive patronage from the
state government throughout. At present, the morning and evening shifts of the
college are serving more than 6000 students. Being a centre of IGNOU, New
Delhi, the college is an important hub of distance education as well.
The new building
of the college is currently under construction, with state-of-the-art
facilities. At present also, the college is one of the four colleges in the
whole state, with a start-up incubator. Moreover, the college has some of the
most qualified faculty in the whole state, with research experience at national
and international levels. Academics along with Skill Development and Trainings,
to improve our excellent placement programme is under a renewed focus. The
college has always played a leading role in NSS, Youth Red Cross, Red Ribbon,
Women Studies and Development Cell, NCC Army & Navy, and other
co-curricular activities involving community outreach and has established a
long-standing tradition of give and take with people of the city and surrounding
areas.
A bastion of
cultural activities, the college has groomed and nurtured talent in Music,
Theatre and Folk Arts. Street theatre for gender parity, social justice and
harmony is one of the special areas, where regular performances bring the students
together in hundreds, and the annual inter-college festival of women cell
‘Yugantar’ has kept its date with the students of the region, for the last 11
years. The college is a quizzers’ paradise, with a vibrant Quiz Club, along
with various clubs and subject societies creating resonances that serve the
goals of holistic education and all-round growth of our students.
As we enter a new
decade, the college is poised to put the National Policy of Education into
practice in both letter and spirit. A whole new era of excellence in the
college life is both, a promise and an invitation to participate.
